ISO 22000

ISO 22000 is an international standard related to food safety. It is applicable to all organizations in the agri- food chain.

This standard aims to create and maintain a management system for food safety ( SMDA ) .

It focuses on the skills of staff, the continuing search for information on food products (new laws, standards, regulations, etc. .) and a return to the HACCP system, as set by the Codex Alimentarius.

It is compatible with the ISO 9001 : Management Systems - Requirements and ISO 14001 : Environmental management systems - Requirements with guidance for use.

It aims to facilitate the management of safety by :

  • recognizing the guides to hygiene good practices ( for inter or companies ) ;

  • imposing an obligation of result, but leaving free choice of means;

  • limiting redundancy means of controlling and promoting communication between stakeholders;

  • taking into account specific requirements of customers on the food safety;

  • Including the technical standard of the ISO 22003 on audit certification rules and qualification of auditors;

  • imposing a system of continuous improvement.
