The global Gap is a set of standards of good practices for agriculture; this certification was introduced in 1997. The objective is to guarantee the integrity, transparency and harmonization of agricultural standards repositories in the world.

These standards are for all producers of unprocessed fruits and vegetables.

The major challenges of GLOBALGAP certification are :

  • Responding to consumer concerns on food safety and environmental protection

  • Meet the referencing criteria of main European buyers of fruits and vegetables

  • Participate in a European harmonization program initiated by different actors in the fruit and vegetables sector
